Ripple 1 Ballet students delight in the elegance of ballet. Your child will experience a sense of serenity as they develop technical and artistic awareness and work on developing an emotive performance presence.
In Ripple 1, students begin training at the barre, a joyous rite of passage for any aspiring ballet dancer.
As compared to the primary level Sparkle ballet classes, Ripple 1 Ballet students enjoy exploring more complex and intricate positions, movements, and patterns during this preparatory course that will transition them into the study of classical ballet.
Ripple 1 Ballet students are encouraged to take a minimum of one other style of dance to figure out what they really love. Now is the time to discover what you love and then stick with it!
Ripple 1 Ballet is a one-year beginning-level ballet class for ages 7-9* that meets once a week. Students must be at least 7 years old on October 1 of the school year in which class begins.
*Students who are 10 or older may begin in Ripple 1, or they may begin in Ripple 2 with 6 private or semi-private catch-up lessons at an additional cost. Beginning in Ripple 2 is recommended; cognitively and physically older beginners tend to catch up quickly and are more content dancing with kids closer to their own age.
Ripple 1 is the 1st year of the seven-year Ripple Program. At the conclusion of Ripple 1 Ballet, students progress to Ripple 2 Ballet, where they will train for two years as beginning/intermediate students.
