Pure Dance Works: 3 (map and directions)
Tuesday, 5:15 PM - 6:15 PM
Start Date: 08/12/25
Duration: 40 Weeks
End Date: 06/02/26

Dancers must be 5 years old by October 1 to enroll in Sparkle 5 Ballet.

Your dancer’s face will shine with joy every time they leap into their own engaging class to practice cat and mouse gallops, learn the step of the horse, and play rhythms on maracas.

Your child will flourish in Sparkle 5 Ballet where they perform “fairy piqués” quietly to avoid wake the sleeping fairy and keep their flashlight knees shining on the ceiling to maintain external rotation during a temps lié.

In Sparkle 5 Ballet, dancers learn primary-ballet skills and are never pushed beyond safe physical limits.

Increased muscle strength and control mean that they work turned out a majority of the time, learn more complex arm positions, and enjoy learning more intricate formations than pre-ballet classes. Primary ballet skills help increase balance, agility, and gross motor development.

Teachers trained and certified in the proven Leap 'N Learn method intentionally nurture the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of a typical five-year-old in every class using professionally designed, developmental- and education-based lesson plans.

Students develop confidence as they learn essential social skills in a supportive environment.

Sparkle students can earn the title of Star Student when they show respect for and cooperate with the teacher, their friends, and the studio using their Dancer Manners.

Etiquette is a universal ballet concept that has lovely implications when applied to all areas of a dancer's life.
Sparkle 5 Ballet students develop a knowledge and understanding of  French terminology

Teachers will begin to drop the English words associated with French terms as students are more able to recall the correct terms without the association.

For example, sometimes the teacher will say, “flamingo passé” and sometimes she’ll just say “passé.”

Emotional awareness is developed through specific activities designed to help children identify and express various emotions in a safe, stress-free environment.

According to Dr. Annie Spell, Ph.D. and co-author of the Leap 'N Learn curriculum used in Sparkle Ballet, this is an essential skill for healthy emotional development.

Understanding what emotions are, that everyone has them, and that it's ok to express them helps children strengthen their emotional intelligence.

Musical awareness advances in the primary ballet levels as students may be able to start on the count of "1" independently, can count and clap more complex rhythms, and demonstrate a greater ability to execute steps in time with the music.

The use of props such as different-sized soft pumpkins fosters creativity and artistry.

Props provide a deeper understanding and incorporation of movement concepts presented in class, such as level.
Sure, you can leap across the floor low, medium and high over nothing, but having three different sized pumpkins to leap over produces much more noticeable results.

Weekly coloring sheets display a key component of the day’s lesson plan, such as “Tendu à La Seconde.”

They are a perfect conversation starters that give parents the opportunity to further facilitate their child's understanding and retention of class content.
