Pure Dance Works: 1 (map and directions)
Tuesday, 5:15 PM - 6:15 PM
Start Date: 08/12/25
Duration: 40 Weeks
End Date: 06/02/26

Students must be 5 or 6 years old by October 1 to enroll in Sparkle Jazz.

Sparkle Jazz celebrates the wonder and joy of childhood by immersing children in sensory-rich pretend-play activities that ignite creativity.

Your dramatic singing & dancing kiddo will be thrilled to learn jazz dance, singing activities and acting games; this will be the highlight of their week!

Sparkle Jazz students love performing a jazz square, warming up their voices with silly songs designed to teach vocal technique, and playing Zip Zap Zup to develop acting skills.

Teachers trained and certified in the proven Leap 'N Learn method intentionally nurture the physical, social, emotional, and cognitive development of typical five- and six-year-olds in every class using professionally designed, developmentally- and education-based lesson plans.

  • Physically, students learn basic jazz dance skills that will keep their bodies active and agile.

  • Socially, students interact with one another through improv acting games, coordinating dance moves, and cooperating with other voices in song. Dancers are recognized as Star Students when they use their Dancer Manners, including showing respect to others by keeping their hands to themselves, taking turns, keeping quiet when necessary, and listening to and following directions.

  • Emotional awareness is developed through various acting games aimed at identifying and expressing emotions. This is a vital part of developing emotional intelligence.

  • Cognitive benefits of Sparkle Jazz include building memorization and recall abilities as students learn the names of dance steps, note patterns in songs, and stage blocking placement in acting.

Musical awareness is an essential Sparkle Jazz concept. Students learn to start dancing and singing on the count of "1," how to count basic rhythms, and begin to demonstrate an understanding and ability to execute steps in time with the music.

The use of engaging props fosters character development & movement concepts.

Students may dress up in a pirate hat, princess crown, or superhero cape and improv a scene.

Dancing with props such as ribbon rings also provide a deeper understanding and incorporation of movement concepts presented in class, such as level, which can be high, medium, or low.

Class extension activities are provided weekly in the form of coloring sheets that display something the students learned about in class such as a famous musical.

They are a perfect conversation starter that give parents the opportunity to further facilitate their child's understanding and retention of class content.
