Advanced Jazz with a rotation of styles such as Commercial Jazz and Jazz Funk, along with collaborative choreography

Students dive deep into a rotation of advanced styles and exciting challenges each season. Examples include street jazz, Latin jazz, commercial jazz, and jazz funk.

 
Grad Collab dancers collaborate with peers and instructors to create inspirational choreography that makes a positive impact that ripples far beyond the stage.

Jazz students enjoy training in various jazz-based styles during their journey at Pure Dance Works. Dancers progress smoothly through a detailed curriculum that includes technique, vocabulary, and dance history.

In addition, Grad Collab students learn about potential careers in jazz such as musical theater, dance educator, choreographer, and other exciting jobs in the industry.

Age Range & Class Info

• Students must be at least 14 years old as of October 1 and have completed Ripple 5 Jazz or the equivalent 
• Max Class Size: 12
• Meets once a week for 75 minutes
• Seasons run 40 weeks from mid-August to early June
• Students enrolled by the deadline for the 40-week season perform in December and January (costumes are INCLUDED :).
• Most students spend one year in Ripple 5. 
• Grad Collab  students qualify to join the Pure Performance Company

Dress Code
Every class has a required dress code, though Grad Collab dancers enjoy a significant array of choices.

• Grad Collab students receive a standard uniform for class that may also be used for some performances. 
• In addition, Grad Collab Jazz dancers may choose class wear from a wide selection of Pure Dance Works leotard styles and colors, athletic bottoms, and beautiful skirt options.

What’s Next?
Students enjoy membership in the Grad Collab, where they continue to refine their technique and artistry as advanced dancers through high school graduation.

In Grad Collab Jazz, students embark on a four-year rotation that encompasses advanced styles, including Commercial Jazz and Jazz Funk, while collaborating on inspiring choreography with peers and instructors.
